Different types of pruning saw.

Any basic pruning saw usually consists of a medium sized blade, and is either curved like a bow or is a straight blade.
Pruning saws are set up very similar to regular saws, but some have a slightly curved handle for comfort when pruning.
There are also electrical pruning saws available which are operated by a switch at the base of the pruning saw, which is incredibly easy to use and makes pruning a breeze.
Within recent years telescopic pruning saws have appeared which will enable you to use you pruning without the hassle of climbing up a ladder. This type of pruning saw usually is extended either by an extension cord which will extend the pruning saw as the cord is pulled, or extend and click in place.

Using a pruning saw safely

One word of caution when using a pruning saw is to wear protective clothing. If you intend to use your pruning saw to cut down large branches, we would advise wearing a hard hat, just to protect your head from falling debris and branches.
